Voice Over Bio
Jim has just finished working on a Channel 4 Comedy Sketch show pilot,’ i-Candy’, which will be aired early in the new year. Initial signs are good that a series will be commissioned from the pilot so it’s fingers crossed time.
In terms of voiceover and radio work, he has been recently doing some ongoing work with Newstalk’s Tom Dunne show, providing the voice for a number of different spoof characters on the show including Dermot Forde, the only man who has been a rose of Tralee escort 4 times and has produced a book called ‘The Forde Escort’, Bryan Martin, a medium and plasterer who claims he is in touch with John Lennon and most recently Austin Desmond TD, a Fianna Fail backbencher who came on the show to defend the expense account of John O’Donoghue – this led to an article by Senator Eoghan Harris on political ethics in the Sunday Independent . The pieces for the Tom Dunne show are all spoofs but are getting a lot of national attention as listeners often think the characters are real.
In other areas, Jim has also done some voice over work recently for Trinity College, providing a narrator’s voice on the biography of the scientist John Joly on the website for the college museum. You can listen to this at the following address: http://www.museumbuilding.org/threads.html (Click on the image of Joly to hear the audio)
Jim has just released his new demo and it’s a good showcase of his versatility and comic capabilities. Give it a listen and see what you think!
