Profile

4th April 2011 - Recorded a couple more Sunday Miscellany pieces last week for RTE Radio (one should be broadcast this coming Sunday 10th)...Brenda Blethyn and Ciaran Hinds gave my radio play THINK WELL,O SINGER a decent plug on The Late Late Show on Friday (they recorded it last week,it will be broadcast on Easter Sunday, 24th). Meanwhile, I have several readings to do of my children's book(THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LETTER IN THE WORLD)in schools/bookshops etc.

In February, I recorded a short story for RTE Radio (Francis MacManus runner-up, 'Scabapple', broadcast Tuesday 1st Feb, Radio 1)...I recorded a radio v/o for Renault before Christmas, did a stint as a plummy-voiced Mr Kipling-esque Santa in Antrim and after a couple of readings of my children's book, I returned to Dublin in time for the launch at City Hall of The Irish Catullus to which I provided translations of six poems.

An experienced radio actor and narrator, as well as playing a variety of stage and screen characters(best-known perhaps as Tim Carney in Fair City, a man who treated his Russian wife Olga rather badly!), I am originally from Armagh in Northern Ireland. I am particularly interested in narration and would love to lend my voice to anything in that area.

My father used to say I was named Karl after Karl Marx, but I could never figure out which one of the Marx brothers that was.
