Voice Over Bio
Q: HOW AND WHEN DID YOU GET INTO VOICE OVER WORK?A: I was asked to do VO for a documentary film about 17 years ago and I absolutely loved it! Then did some ads for Radio, and continued doing all sorts of VO work in the States. I record at home, as well as doing studio gigs, in fact I still have many of the same clients from my days in the US.
Q: WHAT STYLES OF VOICE OVER DO YOU KICK ASS AT?
A: I have a very warm and solid straight read, but love to swing across the scale and pull out my bag of characters when needed too - particularly for animation.
Q: WHAT TYPE OF BRANDS HAVE YOU WORKED ON?
A: I do quite a lot of on-hold work, the person who says hello and keeps you calm or occupied on the phone while you wait patiently! - Everything from Irish pubs abroad to Jaguar to Production houses! Film narration is another frequent one, as well as the voice of salons and spas - luxury and relaxing stuff. Then again, I am also the voice of a bunch of vending machines in the States, just to keep it real! Tea anyone?
Q: ARE YOU PERFORMING IN ANY INTERESTING SHOWS LATELY?
I've just wrapped a couple of short films, as well as on a new online soap opera, in which I play a number of characters. I will be performing at Electric Picnic again with my alter ego 'Mrs Nellie Murphy', as well as taking her to a number of Irish festivals. Just back from performing at Tedfest 10 which was a BLAST! Careful now!!
