Voice Over Bio
Got into voice overs by narrating some children's stories for a Buddhist educational charity. I was then invited to narrate ten of their newsletter videos and becoming a roaming Buddhist storyteller in primary schools for ten years. I moved into advertising when I moved to Ireland in 2006 while continuing with occasional documentary work. I think a lot of my skills come from funding my student days doing commission only teleselling.I'm particularly strong at RP and upper class English due to my brief public school education but also picked up a good grounding in London and Northern English accents through living there. Good at comic and exaggerated stuff too.
I've worked on prestige reads as well as more fast paced 'hard sell' type stuff (e.g. Xtra-Vision). I've done a lot of demos for ad agencies preparing presentations.
At the moment, while my partner and I await our second child, I am concentrating on writing for TV. My last acting job was 'Love and Money' at Project.
I was born in the UK. Expelled from public school for being a punk. Failed to become next William Burroughs but got into drama school. Wrote 'The Bill' between acting jobs. Got disillusioned and joined Buddhist order for ten years. Decided on reaching forty that I'd become equivalent of local Buddhist vicar and went back to precariousness of the arts. Moved to Dublin in 2006 because I liked the energy of the city. Met beautiful red headed Galway girl, now awaiting second child.
