Philip O'Sullivan 30s/40s Male Voice Over

Commercial Demo

“Worth a listen”

Profile

Philip's first ever voiceover was recorded at the famed Tommy Ellis Recording Studios in Dublin in the mid 70s, when Philip was in his late teens and a member of the Abbey Theatre, Ireland's National Theatre.

The session was engineered by legendary Noel Storey - now the owner of Beacon Studios. The 30 sec radio-script was for a sheep dip commercial and the opening line (to be delivered in very urgent "corporate-agricultural" tones) was "Nobody can afford the ravages of HOOSE!!".

Despite Philip not having an iota what Hoose was or anything else pertaining to recording skills, the commercial went on-air. The fee was 25 guineas! Who remembers them now?! The rest is recording history.

From mad Judges to sober Lords, Quiz Masters, dodgy DJ's, Aliens, French Professors, caring Doctors, Gangsters, Cowboys, Lovers, Husbands, Sons and some oh so very straight types, Philip has covered the gamut of the voiceover range and has enjoyed-almost-every single one.

Having left the Abbey after 11 years, Philip has pursued a very successful freelance acting career that includes countless plays, TV dramas, radio plays and films. Glenroe, Mrs. O'Brien, Veronica Guerin, Pure Mule 1 & 2, Tudors 1 & 2, Showbands 1 & 2, Tiger's Tale, Laura's Fan, Underneath the Lintel, Arturo Ui, Last Days of the Celtic Tiger, The Goat, to name but a few. Philip has always relished a challenge and is never happier than when tackling an imaginative script.

Married to Sandra, they have a daughter Jeanne-Marie, aged 8 and a half.
