Voice Over Bio
I trained in ballet in the Marie Bicknell School of Ballet in Cambridge, England for four years and also trained in riding, ballroom dancing and singing and flute in the RIAM and later with Andre Prieur.I trained in West Africa with The Festival Players and took part in many productions such as Margaret in A Man for all Seasons, Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest and Queen Victoria in The Hollow Crown.
I also trained and modelled with the Miriam Woodbyrne Agency in Dublin and spent some time touring Ireland, playing the flute for the then Music Association of Ireland.
On my return from Africa I began writing seriously and had several novels, childrens' books and a collection of poetry published. I then studied script writing and began writing film, radio and tv scripts. I have recorded many scripts for RTE1's Sunday Miscellany and for Lyric FM and have also read on RTE1's The Book on One programme. I hosted an arts slot on East Coast Radio and took part in several ads for TV and Radio and read my work on BBC Cambridge.
Recently, I decided to get back into acting and have taken part in screen and stage acting workshops in the Gaiety School of Acting and with directors, Vinny Murphy and Graham Cantwell. I have written and acted in revue and given one woman performances for a wide range of audiences from Trinity College Literary Society, the ICA, Mount Juliet, Mountjoy, Bray Arts Club, Dry Rain Theatre and in private houses. I have also performed in two of the Equity Showcases.
I took part in the TV film Mountbatten: return to Mullaghmore as Lady Patricia Brabourne in the summer and have also been suggested for a role in a feature film that is in the early stages of development. I performed in an evening of my monologues at the Attic Studio in Dublin in October. In November, I played Ana in the Bluepatch production of The Clean House by Sarah Ruhl which ran for two weeks.
In December some of my work was performed in the Gallery in Powerscourt Town House. I also just completed the filming of Zombie Bashers for RTE's storyland project.
I really enjoy voice over work - the wider or weirder the range of scripts, the better - and I'm also up for singing - ballad or nightclub style.
