We got a nice email from Tim O’Donovan this morning. I thought I’d post it out there to keep you up to date with his ventures.
While you’re there, thought I’d send you a little update on my VO activities for your news section - feel free to use/discard as you wish.
I’ve been quite busy over this past month or so, with demos for 3 Mobile and An Post, and tv and radio slots recorded for Bulmers Berry, Texaco, National College of Ireland and the Guinness Arthur’s Day Campaign.
Also gearing up to release my second album as Neosupervital at the end of the Summer (www.listn.to/neosupervital), which is available for licensing for any ad campaigns that might require fun, vibrant pop music or instrumentals.
(By the way, if you ever hear of folks needing music for their campaigns, do let me know. I’m hoping to tie in that side of things with my vo work - seems to be a logical progression.)
My stats have been very healthy over the past while - thanks again for a great service and keep up the good work!
We got a call last week from RTE’s The Business radio program to help out in producing ads for a competition they were running. The concept was that listeners would write their own radio ads and send them in to the station. The ads had to promote Ireland as an investment destination. Its fair to say, that most of the entries took a rather tongue in cheek view. You can listen to the full excerpt below.

Welcome to the 21st century. You can now have money appear magically in your bank account without ever leaving your chair. Well, almost. Millions of euro is made each year by voiceovers who are contacted online - via the web. If you have a Piehole page, you have a chance to get a slice of some of this action by being found by Google. Here are some tips.
1) Use your ‘Share This’ button
On your home page, there is a ‘Share This’ button. Click it and you’ll get a snazzy list of the latest and greatest ways to share your page. Each time you do this you improve your personal pages ranking in Google, meaning you are more likely to appear in the search giants cross hairs. Goolge cross hairs = money from voiceover work. If you have a facebook account, click the facebook icon that pops up. If you have a bebo icon, click the bebo icon. You get the idea. Share on as many of the icons as you can to improve your chances.
2) Blog your little bleating heart out
If you have a blog or a personal website, make sure you link to your Piehole profile. By doing this you are boosting your pages profile and helping to drive more traffic / potential customers. One tip from the top is to link using the words my voiceover profile. Having the word ‘voiceover’ in the link tells Google that your open for voiceover business.
3) Ignore all of the above
The great news is, that if none of that makes any sense to you - simply ask someone who is down with the internet kidz. Ask your children, nerdy friends and strangers in the street to ‘link to my page on piehole’ to help your ranking.

Don’t miss Diane in Epilogue. A new one-act play, Epilogue takes a blackly humorous look at choice, regret, acceptance and the unique way we all have of viewing our own lives. The storyline revolves around Henry, who considers himself a successful business man. He has worked tirelessly and with relentless ambition toward a thriving and lucrative career; a career that has just been abruptly cut short.
Stuck in a waiting room between death and the afterlife, Henry is given the opportunity to review his life. With the help of a suited ’Lawyer’, his ’list’ and a host of people from his past, Henry is forced to consider that his memories may not be as regret-free as he would like to believe.
PLAY DIANE’S DEMO

Tara is currently working with Telegael on the cartoon series ‘ Cedric’ and will shortly be filming Na Cloigne with Rosg productions, Robert Quinn dir. To listen to Tara’s demo, click here.
The producers at Red Apple (from Publicis QMP) are going on a 24 hour fast to support Trocaire. It’s kind of interesting - they’re half way there, and have till the next lunchtime to do it. We’re all doing what we can in the office to make it more challenging for them (i.e. warming up home-cooked meals, leaving bars of chocolate lying around, etc) - but it looks like they’re going to make it. Please support these hungry chicks here - even if you only donate a fiver. Or even 1c - they’re a sucker for punishment.
Hopefully you get your voiceover demo. This post is about making sure your embarrassing videos and photos from the past don’t beat your demo to the top of the google rankings. Here are some easy tips:
1) Make sure you have a link to your demo page (i.e. www.piehole.ie/yourname) on your facebook, bebo, myspace, and twitter pages
2) “favourite” your demo page - whether that be your Piehole page, or your myspace, or wherever you put your voice demo. You can do this by creating a Del.icious or a Dig link. If you’re already on Piehole, there is a “share this” button you can click which will let you do this.
3) Ask ALL your friends and family to do 2)
4) Leave comments on relevant blogs and forums, signaturing your comment with your link.
5) Write articles about your experiences as an actor or voiceover and submit them to article marketing websites online, like Ezine Articles. They give you a space to put your link/ URL in, so these articles, along with a link to your demo, get distributed all over the net.
